Do you sell unweaned babies?
No sorry, we only sell weaned babies.

At what age will our baby be ready to be shipped to us?
We Ship babies when they have been eating on their own for about 2 weeks and are exhibiting independence and confidence. This can vary between species, from 10 weeks of age to 4 months. We do not rush our babies to wean. Each baby is treated as an individual.

What is the cost of shipping?
When at all possible, we ship only counter to counter and on non-stop flights. Shipping expenses will be quoted upon request.

How many babies do you raise at a time?
We do not breed more babies than we can raise and socialize adequately. As we are a small aviary and only have a few special pairs of breeding birds it’s very rare for us to have more than 6 or 8 chicks in the nursery at one time.

How are your babies socialized?
The baby nursery is our former breakfast nook, so they are exposed to family activities all day long. Of course they are talked to constantly when small while they are being fed. They are provided with a variety of toys from a young age and are allowed out of their cages to play at least twice a day as soon as they are old enough. They will also know the step-up command before they leave here.

What diet do your birds eat?
We feed a varied diet consisting of pellets, fresh fruits, cooked beans, raw & cooked vegetables, nuts, and seeds. Our babies are weaned to this diet before they go to their news homes.

How are your parent birds housed?
Our breeding pairs are housed in large, indoor flight cages and are fed a wholesome, natural, diet consisting of as much variety as possible. They are also provided with toys to help keep them busy and happy.

Do you gavage (tube) feed your babies?
No! We use syringes to feed.

Will you be available for questions and help when I bring my baby home?
Absolutely! And we are available to you in the days, weeks, months, and years after. We also want to hear that things are going well! In fact, if we don't hear from you, we contact you from time to time to see how things are going with your new baby. The bottom line is that if the owner isn't happy, the parrot isn't happy. We want your parrot to be with you for decades.

What other things will I need for my parrot?
Besides a large cage and fun toys, you should have a play gym or stand for your parrot to "hang out" and play on. Be sure to rotate your parrot's toys every couple of weeks they are like children and will become bored with the same old toys if they are not rotated
